Tutorial on Queueing Petri Nets at ICPE 2012

05.05.2012

A tutorial by the Descartes Research Group on Queueing Petri Nets presented at the ICPE 2012 International Conference is now available for download.

A tutorial by the Descartes Research Group on Queueing Petri Nets was presented by Samuel Kounev at the 3rd ACM/SPEC International Conference on Performance Engineering (ICPE 2012) on April 22 in Boston, USA.

The tutorial provides: i) a brief introduction to the Queueing Petri Net (QPN) modeling formalism providing references and links for further reading, ii) An overview of modeling case studies with QPNs in different application domains, iii) Introduction of relevant tools with focus on the Queueing Petri net Modeling Environment (QPME) developed at KIT.

The tutorial slides can be downloaded here.

A separate tutorial paper was published in the ICPE 2012 proceedings:

Samuel Kounev, Simon Spinner, and Philipp Meier. Introduction to Queueing Petri Nets: Modeling Formalism, Tool Support and Case Studies (Tutorial Paper). In Proceedings of the 3rd ACM/SPEC International Conference on Performance Engineering (ICPE 2012), Boston, USA, 2012. [ bib | slides ]
