Industry Lecture by Cybereason on Operating System Security

Dr. Aleksandar Milenkoski, a Senior Threat and Malware Analyst at Cybereason, and Vlad Ogranovich, Senior Director of the Cybereason global SOC, held a lecture on operating system security.

Dr. Aleksandar Milenkoski, a Senior Threat and Malware Analyst at Cybereason, and Vlad Ogranovich, Senior Director of the Cybereason global SOC, held a lecture on operating system security.

The lecture covered the theoretical basics of access control as well as standard and recent access control concepts and mechanisms. These include the Linux filesystem access control mechanism, Microsoft Defender Application Control, Windows Virtual Secure Mode, and Universal Windows App capabilities. In addition, the lecture discussed how well-designed access control protects against current malware and attack scenarios. In this context, the lecture covered real-world attack scenarios that involve different threat actors and malware, such as TrickBot, LemonDuck, and the Magniber ransomware.
