Florian Spieß completed his PhD. Congratulations!

Our  head of the Secure Software Systems Group, Prof. Dr. Alexandra Dmitrienko, has been appointed as Full Professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen.

The paper "WoundAmbit: Bridging State-of-the-Art Semantic Segmentation and Real-World Wound Care" by V. Borst, T. Dittus, T. Dege, A. Schmieder, and S. Kounev has received the Best Student Paper Award at the ADS Track of ECML PKDD 2025.

Die Arbeit „WoundAmbit: Bridging State-of-the-Art Semantic Segmentation and Real-World Wound Care” von V. Borst, T. Dittus, T. Dege, A. Schmieder und S. Kounev wurde beim ADS Track der ECML PKDD 2025 mit dem Best Student Paper Award ausgezeichnet.

CACM has recently published an article about our interdisciplinary research project "ROOT" in a special section on "Sustainability".

The paper "Quantifying Data Leakage in Failure Prediction Tasks" by D. Grillmeyer, M. Hadry, V. Lesch, V. Borst, R. Leppich, A. Bauer, and S. Kounev has received the Best Artifact Paper Award at ICPE 2025.

We are happy to announce that the second edition of our book "Systems Benchmarking - For Scientists and Engineers" was just published by Springer.

Last week, our team had the privilege of hosting the kick-off meeting for our new DFG-funded research project Serverless Scientific Computing and Engineering for Earth Observation and Sustainability Research (SOS) at the stunning Umweltforschungsstation Schneefernerhaus.

The best Bachelor and Master Thesis students of 2024 at the Chair of Computer Science II (Software Engeering) have been honored with the Würzburg Software Engeering Awards sponsored by Infosim and the PASS Consulting Group.
