The paper "Sizeless: Predicting the optimal size of serverless functions" by S. Eismann, L. Bui, J. Grohmann, C. L. Abad, N. Herbst, and S. Kounev has received the Best Student Paper Award at MIDDLEWARE 2021.

The best Bachelor and Master Theses students of 2020 at the Chair of Computer Science II (Software Engineering) have been honored with the Würzburg Software Engineering Awards.

The article "Serverless Applications: Why, When, and How?" co-authored by Simon Eismann, Johannes Grohmann, Nikolas Herbst, Prof. Dr. Samuel Kounev, and researchers from VU Amsterdam, ESPOL, University of Gothenburg and DLR has been accepted for publication in IEEE Software.

All planned courses (lectures, seminars, and practical courses) of the chair in the summer semester 2020 will take place using online services.

At first glance, supermarket queues and the cloud do not have much in common. In his presentation, André Bauer proved the opposite - and in just three minutes. Scientific facts and lots of entertainment value secured him first place at FameLab in Regensburg.

André Bauer performed at the Münchner Kammerspiele to convince the audience on the big stage how exciting computer science can be. In creative 10 minutes he presented his research and the research of the chair. In the end he achieved the runner-up rank.
