The winners of this year's Würzburg Software Engineering Awards recognizing the best Bachelor and Master theses at the Chair of Software Engineering in 2021 were recognized at this year's SE WinterDay event.

Our member Martin Sträßer has been awarded a Ph.D. scholarship granted by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes).

As part of the Graduiertenfeier 2021, three of our team members received awards for their outstanding Master graduations.

A new textbook on the topic of systems benchmarking by Samuel Kounev, Klaus-Dieter Lange, and Jóakim von Kistowski has just been published by Springer International Publishing.

The article "Serverless Applications: Why, When, and How?" co-authored by Simon Eismann, Johannes Grohmann, Nikolas Herbst, Prof. Dr. Samuel Kounev, and researchers from VU Amsterdam, ESPOL, University of Gothenburg and DLR has been accepted for publication in IEEE Software.

All planned courses (lectures, seminars, and practical courses) of the chair in the summer semester 2020 will take place using online services.

At first glance, supermarket queues and the cloud do not have much in common. In his presentation, André Bauer proved the opposite - and in just three minutes. Scientific facts and lots of entertainment value secured him first place at FameLab in Regensburg.

André Bauer performed at the Münchner Kammerspiele to convince the audience on the big stage how exciting computer science can be. In creative 10 minutes he presented his research and the research of the chair. In the end he achieved the runner-up rank.
