Im Rahmen der Akademischen Feier 2018 der Fakultät für Mathematik und Informatik wurden drei unserer Mitarbeiter für ihren hervoragenden Abschluss im Studienfach Master Informatik ausgezeichnet.

Aleksandar Milenkoski from the Chair of Software Engineering is this year's winner of the SPEC Kaivalya Dixit Distinguished Dissertation Award presented at the ACM/SPEC ICPE 2018 Conference in Berlin. Nikolas Herbst received a SPECtacular Award from SPEC for technical leadership.

Auf der GI/ITG Konferenz Measurement, Modelling and Evaluation of Computing Systems (MMB) 2018 wurde Stefan Herrnleben für seine Masterarbeit ausgezeichnet.

Lukas Iffländer, Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Informatik II, wurde mit dem Promotionsstipendium der Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft ausgezeichnet.

Prof. Dr. Samuel Kounev und sein Doktorand Marwin Züfle wurden mit dem diesjährigen Universitätsförderpreis der Mainfränkischen Wirtschaft ausgezeichnet.

Am Lehrstuhl für Software-Engineering des Instituts für Informatik der Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg sind zum nächstmöglichen Termin zwei Stellen im Bereich Software-Engineering für IoT und Industrie 4.0 zu besetzen.

The Best Master and Bachelor Thesis students of 2017 at the Chair of Computer Science II (Software Engeering) have been honored with the new Würzburg Software Engeering Awards sponsored by Bosch Rexroth and Infosim.

The 1st Workshop on Hot Topics in Cloud Computing Performance co-located with ICPE 2018 will take place on April 9, 2018 in Berlin, Germany and is organized by the Chair of Software Engineering (Informatik II) with Nikolas Herbst serving as co-organizer.

An article co-authored by Jóakim von Kistowski, Nikolas Herbst, Prof. Dr. Samuel Kounev, and researchers from KIT and the University of Paderborn has been accepted for publication in the ACM Transactions on Autonomous and Adaptive Systems (TAAS) journal. The article is entitled "Modeling and Extracting Load Intensity Profiles".

The demonstration of the Autopilot tool by Jóakim v. Kistowski, Maximilian Deffner and the SPEC RG Power Working Group was recognized by the best demo/poster award at the International Conference on Performance Engineering 2017.

A new book "Self-Aware Computing Systems" by Samuel Kounev, Jeffrey O. Kephart, Aleksandar Milenkoski and Xiaoyun Zhu has been published by Springer as a standalone advanced text book.
