This course covers an overview of program analysis methods with particular emphasis on analyzing software quality. The first half of the course emphasizes methods to test software and principles of rigorous functional and code-based software evaluation. The second half introduces principles of software measurement, including software measurement theory, the Goal-Question-Metric Paradigm, measurement of external and internal attributes of software, and the use of case studies in software analysis.

The course is held in English. It can be used to fulfill part of thecourse requirements for the Diplom Exam (2 credits). Interested studentsshould contact the instructor for specific requirements. Bachelorstudents may receive up to 5 ECTS points; again, please, contact theinstructor for detailed requirements.

Course Prerequisites:
Basics in software engineering, knowledge of UML, XML, Javascript, Java, and basic data structures.
